Freemasonry is one of the largest charitable givers in the country, second only to the National Lottery. Typically contributing £51.1m to deserving causes in 2020 alone. See https://mcf.org.uk/ for more information. United Grand Lodge donated in February 2023 the sum of £60,000 to the British Red Cross towards the Turkish/Syrian earthquake appeal.
What does the Masonic Charity Foundation do locally? https://ynerfestival29.org.uk/news
Charity has always been a core principle of Freemasonry and we’re proud of our 300-year history of helping those in need. Our members make an important contribution, especially at a local level every year, by giving both their time and money to make a real difference to organisations and communities.
Acklam Lodge members engage in many activities including raffles, community fundraising and volunteering, as well as a varied programme of fundraising events where spouses, partners, friends and families are always welcome. We’ve made substantial donations across the area to local and national charities. See below.
